Rainier Community Update: Clarification and Support Information
This is a follow up to this morning's announcement.
To the Rainier Community -
As promised, I am following up with additional information regarding the update I shared earlier this morning about Rainier Jr./Sr. High School Principal Jeremy Williams.
Clarification
In that message, I included the press release from the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office regarding Mr. Williams’ arrest. The release noted that at the time of his arrest, Mr. Williams was on paid administrative leave for an unrelated issue. I want to clarify that Mr. Williams was placed on administrative leave regarding comments made surrounding the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Sharing Your Concerns
If you or someone you know has information that you think could be helpful to the police investigation of Mr. Williams, please share it with Detective Kris Moore at 360-577-3092 at the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office. The case number is: A25-20691.
Supporting Our Community
We will have additional staff trained in crisis response on campus starting tomorrow, Sept. 18, to support our students and staff as needed. Locally, the Columbia County mobile crisis line is available for support 24/7 at 503-782-4499.
If you are ever concerned about the health and safety of a child, you should immediately report it to the local police or to the statewide abuse hotline at 855-503-SAFE (7233). Information can also be shared anonymously with the Safe Oregon Tipline, which is monitored 24/7.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our community safe. Our community is strong and united in our commitment to supporting students. Together, we will navigate this challenging time. I am deeply grateful to each of you and want you to know that I am here to support you in every way I can.
Sincerely,
Chad Holloway
